CEPN Education Lead for Exeter Primary Care and Devon Health. I live near Yelverton with my husband and 4 children and a rescue dog. I am Chair of my parish Council, I am founder and director of a local community farming group and have stood as a candidate for my local Green Party.
I qualified as a Nurse in 2008. I am now a Practice Nurse working in Plymouth at St Levan Rd Surgery, I have been working there for 5 years.
My role with CEPN will involve facilitating the setup of education and training forums across Devon by utilising existing forums and networks. Overarching everything we do in CEPN is workforce development in Primary care, so ensuring that the current work force are ‘fit for purpose’ and fit for whatever the future of Primary care may be. So an essential part of my job will be to look at encouraging newly qualified practitioners into the workforce. One way of doing this is to increase the number of students/learners into practice, increasing the number of placements and mentors/trainers.
