The new Musculoskeletal Core Capabilities Framework has been launched today.
Commissioned by Health Education England (HEE) and NHS England, the framework is aimed at
practitioners who will be the first point of contact for people with musculoskeletal conditions.
The framework aims to ensure that:
- health professionals who provide care for people with MSK problems are equipped to consistently deliver person-centred care
- can play a full role in helping to manage problems appropriately at the first point of contact
- and help towards achieving better outcomes across the system
By making it clear what capabilities are required we hope the framework will encourage training and development to increase the number of practitioners from different professions to fulfil this vital role.
Development of the framework was by a collaborative team of stakeholders and organisations, led by Skills for Health, HEE, NHS England, Public Health England and the Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Alliance (ARMA).
Musculoskeletal Core Capabilities - Getting your workforce planning right is crucial
The framework is aimed at service commissioners in organisations and those with some level of responsibility for development of the workforce (e.g. commissioning, planning or delivering education, training and learning).
We have a range of tools and solutions to help you and your organisation including other core skills training frameworks.
