UWE is pleased to announce that Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is now available as part of our CPD offer. MHFA is an evidence based training programme that not only provides your staff with the tools to support mental health in practice but also within your organisation.
NICE and the Centre for Mental Health propose that that 30% of costs associated with sickness due to common mental health problems could be saved by early identification and steps to improve employees mental health. MHFA equips individuals to support others and build personal resilience whilst breaking down stigma around mental health issues. It has been adopted by many large organisations such as WH Smith, Unilever, Crossrail and Channel 4 and is currently being embedded in schools as per the government mandate to raise mental health awareness in every school. In addition it is being embedded in some HE courses, at UWE all Step Up to Social Work students will graduate as Mental Health First Aiders.
MHFA is fast becoming a common language across business, education and healthcare.
Attached is a flyer regarding our current MHFA CPD courses for you to circulate within your organisation. If your organisation would like to commission bespoke courses please do not hesitate to contact me, in such cases we are able to negotiate reduced group rates.
